Ghanaian politician, Kwame Asare Obeng better known as A Plus has dragged Ministry of Communication and the Attorney General’s Department to Court.
This follows after it was announced that citizens in the country will lose their sim cards by the end of September if they fail to re-register it.
In a post sighted on Facebook, A Plus claimed the government cannot provide Ghana cards to Ghanaians to register their sim cards yet it has given directives that sims will be blocked by 30th September.
According to him, he took the matter to Supreme Court to seek declaration that the action of blocking sim cards by the Minister of Communication, Hon Ursula Owusu and her people is unfair, capricious, abuse of power and breach of fundamental human rights of ordinary Ghanaians.
He wrote, “the same government that cannot provide Ghana cards to Ghanaians for SIM card registration must not be allowed to execute a directive by the communications minister that unregistered SIM cards will be blocked by 30th September. We are in the Supreme Court to seek a declaration that the action of blocking SIM cards by Dansoman Tatiana Ali” her agents and all stakeholders is unfair, capricious, abuse of power, and a breach of the fundamental human rights of ordinary Ghanaians.”
