Parliamentary candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Akwatia constituency, Ernest Yaw Kumi has revealed what has been happening behind the scenes between himself and incumbent MP, Hon. Mercy Adu-Gyamfi better known as Ama Sey after he beat her in the primaries.
Speaking with the media after a thank-you tour in the constituency, Ernest Yaw Kumi disclosed that Hon. Ama Sey is not willing to make peace with him.
According to him, he has tried several times to get into contact with her to no avail.
Kumi noted that he has even tried to get to her through her husband but had not received any response yet.
According to him, he was ready to go as far as getting down on his knees to plead with Ama Sey over any bitterness she harbored after the primaries.
Kumi admitted that if Ama Sey goes independent, it will surely reduce his votes but was quick to add that he believes he will win the seat regardless.
Ama Sey lost by four votes to her contender Ernest Yaw Kumi and after the declaration of results by the Electoral Commission, she and her team claimed the election had been rigged.
