Broadcast journalist, Afia Pokuaa well known as Vim Lady has expressed shock over the government’s appeal to Ghanaians to donate money to build the National Cathedral.

While reading the midyear budget yesterday in Parliament House, the Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta claimed the citizens of this country should donate at least GHS 100 a month to help build the National Cathedral.

“Work on the National Cathedral is progressing speedily and following the program of the contractor. The National Cathedral is expected to be officially commissioned on March 6, 2024. Upon completion, the National Cathedral will provide a space for formal religious activities of state and symbolize the enormous contribution of faith to nation-building.”

He went on “this state and church partnership envisaged by the president to develop the National Cathedral is on course. An initiative; the GHC100 a month also dubbed “Ketoa Biaa Nsua” will be launched by the trustees of the National Cathedral on August 12, 2021, to give as many Ghanaians as possible the opportunity to be part of the history of the National Cathedral.”

Reacting to the above statement Afia Pokua said the Finance Minister needs Jesus.

According to her, she was shocked the Minister could make such an announcement in the budget reading while there are many schools under trees and villages drinking water with animals which need to be tackled.

He went on to say that there are other villages without clinics and wants to send the minister images of her claim.

Vim Lady emphasized that the Minister needs Jesus and the country as a whole needs Jesus as well.
