Former Chelsea and Black Stars midfielder, Michael Essien has thrown his weight behind LGBTQI+ community in Ghana.
In a post sighted by KwasiAboagyeLive.com, Essien stated categorically that Ghana should support equality.
“We see you, we hear you, we support you. Our LGBTQIA plus Community in Ghana #ghanasupportequality 🇬🇭🤝🏿”, he wrote on Instagram.
A few days ago the LGBTQ+ office that was opened in Ghana was shut down by some security operatives in the country.
President Akufo-Addo recently noted that LGBTQI will not take place in the country under his watch.
