Senior Minister, Hon Yaw Osafo Marfo has defended the AKufo-Addo led government over the quitting of road tolls collection in the country.
Last Wednesday, the Minister of Finance Hon Ken Ofori Atta while reading the 2022 budget in Parliament House indicated that government has taken decision to stop collecting road tolls from drivers.
This has become topic for discussion after the announcement was made.
Speaking in a conversation with Omanhene Kwabena Asante on Adom TV’s ‘Badwam’ this morning, the former Finance Minister Mr Osafo Marfo said he believe it was a good decision from the government since road toll does not fetch the country enough money.
He claimed road toll gives the country GHS 78 million and that is not enough to help the country.
Osafo Marfo added that if road tolls were giving the country above GHS 100 million then that would be a topic for discussion.
