President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has asked those who think his government had not developed parts of the country as expected to go ahead and vote for the NDC if that is their choice.
Speaking on Otec FM on Monday, the President said he is aware of his responsibility to advance the nation and he is working towards that.
According to him, he is unperturbed if some people threaten to vote against the New Patriotic Party in the 2024 general election.
“If you decide to vote for the NDC in the general election, it is your choice and that is not my problem.
“If you want to vote for the NDC, that’s your own problem. Those threats don’t frighten me” – Akufo-Addo added
Akufo-Addo further explained that “No issue. I am trying to explain that when people threaten me, I am not scared.
He asserted, “Of course, I understand the responsibility; we will deal with it, and I will do the work.”
The President went on to say that while he accepts full responsibility for the current economic situation, external factors cannot be ignored.
He expressed hope that the economy would improve before his tenure ended, saying that he hoped the IMF’s assistance would be completed by the middle of November so that it could be incorporated into the budget. When his mandate was up, he declared, “my hope is to remove Ghana from the IMF bemire.”
